CCPA Disclosure

As of July 1, 2020

This statement outlines the privileges granted to California residents under the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (“CCPA”). For businesses like ours that gather information from over fifty thousand Californians, the CCPA mandates the disclosure of certain information. Our comprehensive Privacy Policy details our practices for all users, but we’ve prepared this document specifically to fulfill the CCPA’s stipulations. It includes:

  • Confirmation that We Do Not Commercialize Your Personal Data
  • Your Rights as Stipulated by the CCPA
  • Types and Sources of Personal Data We Accumulate as Per the CCPA
  • Types of Personal Data We Distribute for Business Purposes in Accordance with the CCPA
  1. Commercialization of Personal Information

In line with CCPA requirements, we are obliged to disclose our stance on the selling of personal information. We confirm that we do not engage in the sale of your personal information.

  1. Your CCPA-Endorsed Rights

The CCPA confers the following rights to California residents:

2.1 Information Requests

All our email subscribers, which includes you or your authorized agent, can request a summary of your personal information. Authorized agents will undergo an identity verification process. PetiteHabitat.com will ask members to confirm via email that they have authorized the agent to make the request. The CCPA permits you to request disclosure regarding the collection, usage, and sharing of your personal data over the prior 12 months, including the types of personal data we have collected and the reasons for such collection; the sources of that data; and the categories of third parties to whom we have disclosed it for business purposes. Companies engaging in the sale of personal data, which we do not, are required to provide additional disclosures.

If you’re not a member of PetiteHabitat.com, you can place your request here or via an authorized agent. The agent will need to verify their identity, and you will need to confirm by email that you have given them permission to make the request on your behalf.

2.2 Opt-Out Rights

Since we do not sell personal information, an opt-out is not applicable.

2.3 Right to Be Informed

Under the CCPA, businesses like PetiteHabitat.com are prohibited from accumulating new categories of personal information or using it for substantially different reasons without first notifying you.

2.4 Right to Non-Discrimination

The CCPA forbids businesses from discriminating against you for asserting your rights. Discrimination can manifest as denying goods or services, charging varying prices or rates for services, providing a differing level of service quality, or suggesting that different service levels or qualities might be received by those who exercise their CCPA rights.

2.5 Right to Deletion

As with all our users, you are entitled to request the deletion of your personal data from PetiteHabitat.com by unsubscribing. Additionally, you may ask for the erasure of specific data. We will comply with such requests unless an exception is applicable, for instance, when the information is needed to finalize a transaction or contract for which it was obtained, or if it is in use for security incident detection, legal compliance, bug repair, or to safeguard another user’s freedom of speech or other legal rights.
